Introducing desAIgn

Using the processing power of AI and the artistry of human designers, we will be able to analyze fashion trends and customer tastes.

The analysis of social media data will allow the AI to generate preliminary designs which will be further refined and consolidated into final designs.

On the front-end, customers are also able to customize or create their designs, creating a truly unique fashion experience.

Fashion

AI-powered fashion is the core of desAIgn's operating philosophy. Here's a flow of how AI is incorporated into the design-to-retail cycle.

The AI is given fashion images for training purposes. It is intended that the AI will be able to analyze social media data, and/or a user's digital twin in the future.

The inputs would then be processed through several layers, each responsible for a different feature. Eventually, the AI will comprehend an overall picture of contemporary fashion trend, and the preferences of a user.

The AI will then generate a preliminary design based on current fashion trend and/or digital twin. It is handed over to human designers/users for refinement.

Early on, human designers will refine the AI's initial design to produce a finalized design; however, this might become obsolete as the AI is expected to be more precise.

The finalized (original) design is introduced online which users can further customize.

Why desAIgn

desAIgn will not compete against major brands in the market, but it will be a one-of-a-kind fast fashion brand.

Collaborative intelligence and digital twin empowers truly unique designs

Non-binary clothing, AI-powered customization tools and design curation empowers users and helps them create their distinct fashion identity

ESG sourcing and front-to-back collaborative intelligence allow sustainability and put the need of society and customers first, all the while reduces wastage and costs

Notes

This project is my last undergrad project in University and the idea came up when my groupmate thought of increasing the efficiency of the fast fashion industry. We delve into the idea further and it later became a "Wix/Casetify for fast fashion" kind of business, where a formative AI, instead of humans, will create distinct fashion designs.

I came up with the idea to utilize users' social media profile to create a digital twin of the user, in order to take advantage of the digital footprint online and realize a "customized" design for each individual user. This can be seen in the prototype video above, which shows a user's social media data being analyzed to create a design exclusive to the user, while still allowing the user to tweak the final design.

Many thanks to Antonio and Issac for being such wonderful and inspiring groupmates, and Professor Jack Jiang for the incredible guidance throughout the project.
