Digital Facelift for Local SME
A brand-new website design and digital marketing plan benefit both sides of the B2C market.
Background
This project was the deliverable at the University's Business Consulting Practicum (BCP) in 2019, in which my 3-person team provided professional consulting service under a mentor for a local SME seeking to strengthen its B2C market position. This was my first taste of the consulting profession which has helped me determine the direction of my future career.
In this project, I worked as a Consultant and was responsible for the UX aspect of the project, including a new website design prototype and quantitative user research. The project also included a final report and a marketing plan, which was the result of collaboration among the 3-person team.

Key Takeaways
Spare No Expenses
This experience reinforced my thinking that in order to achieve an objective, no expenses should be spared and devotion to the big picture is crucial. You might feel stretched and restless at the moment, but the final product and the recognition from your Client will be all worth it.
Trust and communication go hand in hand
Trust and respect in a team is often not granted, but earned through transparency and timely communication. There are times in the practicum when I need freedoms over certain work, and they were granted because my teammates, with whom I communicate my process openly, put their trust in me, and vice versa. Communicate openly and timely will earn you trust among your colleagues, which will help you go a long way in your career.
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst
Things will not turn out exactly as you want them to be, but that does not deprive you of the right to be optimistic. Always have a backup plan even when you expect things to go well, so that when the unexpected happens, you are always prepared.
